Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service
The Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) provides the Aboriginal community with criminal, family and civil law advice and representation. VALS also provides Community Justice Programs which includes programs around family violence, community legal education, women's transitional housing support and Aboriginal Community Justice Reports.
The Balit Ngulu’s Strong Voice, Strong Futures program works with young people involved with or at risk of involvement with the legal system by providing personalised education and/or employment pathway planning, support and coordination.
Balit Ngulu also has the Disability Advice Response Team (DART) program in partnership with Melbourne City Mission to assist young people who come into Marram-Ngala Ganbu or contact with the criminal division and may have a disability, the program steps in to assist with screening, assessment and if needed, support through NDIS process.
