Nillumbik Youth Hub is a fun, inclusive and safe space for young people aged 12-25 who live, play, study or work in Nillumbik. The Hub is a space where young people can engage in social, recreational or supportive programs that are fully supervised by the Nillumbik Youth team. 

As the only Hub of its kind in Nillumbik, the Youth Hub is a one-stop destination tailored specifically for young people, designed by young people.   

Whether you're seeking a quiet spot to study, a place to meet friends, or a safe place to access local youth programs and services, Nillumbik Youth Hub is for you! 

The Youth Hub’s opening hours are: 

  • Monday: 11am – 5pm 
  • Tuesday: 11am – 6pm 
  • Wednesday: 11am – 6pm 
  • Thursday: 11am – 6pm 
  • Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Closed

 

Getting there

The Youth Hub is a three minute (230m) walk from Diamond Creek Train Station. To walk from this station young people follow a sealed concrete path, and utilize one pedestrian crossing.  

Car parking is available on Gipson Street or Elizabeth Street, parking time-restrictions may apply.  

The entrance to the Youth Hub faces Elizabeth Street and is accessed via a wide ramp.

What is the Youth Hub?

The Nillumbik Youth Hub is an inclusive and safe space in Diamond Creek designed specifically for young people. The Youth Hub is a welcoming community space where young people can drop in casually or participate in programs and services. It’s built to support their wellbeing, creativity and growth, while also making sure there is plenty of opportunities to have fun and connect with others.

 

Who can visit the Youth Hub?

Anyone aged 12 (or in Grade 6) through to 25 years old is welcome during our opening hours.

Schools, services, parents and guardians with inquiries are encouraged to reach out via email to youth@nillumbik.vic.gov.au or call the team on 9433 3728.

What is there to do at the Youth Hub?

There’s plenty for young people to enjoy and get involved in at the Youth Hub including:

· Playing board games, pool, foosball, PS5 and Nintendo Switch

· Using free WiFi or accessing computers

· Connecting with support services

· Checking out the jobs board

· Getting careers support

· Chilling with friends or meeting new people

· And most importantly—having fun! We also run a Board Masters and an Art Club program, click the links to learn more about these programs.

 

Who facilitates the Youth Hub?

The space is run by Nillumbik Shire Council Youth Workers, and the Hub opens only when two or more staff members are on site to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Local youth services also use the space on different days. If you’re looking to meet with a particular service or support provider, you can reach out to arrange a time. Some services currently available at the Youth Hub include: healthAbility, Headspace and Gamblers Help.

Good news - the Youth Hub programs are all free!

Some external services may charge a fee to engage in particular services, please confirm this with them when inquiring.
