Nillumbeats Short Film Festival 2025

The Nillumbeats Short Film Festival is an annual film making competition for high school students aged 12-18 who live, work, study or play in Nillumbik. Entries are assessed by a panel of film industry experts and selected films are played on the big screen at Hoyts Greensborough in December each year! Prizes are also awarded across a range of categories.

The 2025 Nillumbeats Short Film Competition will open in July 2025. Keep an eye on our website and socials for announcements!

'Quick Change' By J Smith 

Hot-shot performer Naomi Crichton thinks of herself as a professional. Every week for the last month she has appeared in a new wave musical interpretation of Frankenstein, in which she has roughly four minutes and thirty seconds to completely change her costume and makeup, which is not a problem at all. Usually. Naomi is about to have a very bad day.

A new teacher discovers that his seemingly perfect school is controlled by a sinister hive mind, leading him to a struggle for his autonomy and sanity.
