Student Placement & Work Experience

Nillumbik Council is sometimes able to provide opportunities for work experience to students, providing an understanding of local government and exposure to a formal work environment. Expressions of Interest and enquires for work experience or placements can be made to work.experience@nillumbik.vic.gov.au

The maximum placement for a secondary school student is two weeks (10 days).

Expressions of Interest must include the following information:

  • Your preferred dates of placement
  • The type of work experience you are interested in (for example the service or department of Council that interests you).
  • Confirmation that you are currently studying, the name of the institution that you are enrolled with, and your current course (i.e. year 11, or TAFE studying Cert IV including which course).

To help us accommodate your request, please submit your application as early as possible. Requests made with less than six (6) weeks notice are often unable to be accomodated.
Please send requests via email to work.experience@nillumbik.vic.gov.au
Enquiries can also be made to the Human Resources team on 03 9433 3382.
