Student Placement

At Nillumbik Youth, we have a key objective to support young people on work experience, student placement and volunteering.

We currently offer a limited amount of student placement opportunites for students studying community services or similar qualifications. Students on placement work alongside our youth team on programs and service delivery, as well as helping us with research and evaluation.

To express your interest in completing your placement with Nillumbik Youth, please send an email to youth@nillumbik.vic.gov.au. Tell us a bit about yourself, the details of your placement, and what you would like to get out of a placement with Nillumbik Youth.

Please note: Nillumbik Youth is currently unable to take on students completing Certificate IV: Youth Work.

Work Experience

Nillumbik Youth offers work experience to Students in Years 9 and 10. Students will get the opportunity to see what it's like to work on youth programs, as well as visit and work with other Council teams based on their interests and career aspirations. They also provide valuable insight, feedback and opinions on what they think the young people of Nillumbik need.

To express your interest in completing work experience with Nillumbik Youth, please send an email to youth@nillumbik.vic.gov.au. Let us know the dates of your work experience week, and why you'd like to do work experience with Nillumbik Youth.

Volunteering

Aside from Youth Council and Nillumbeats, Nillumbik Youth is always on the look out for young people to volunteer and work on short-term youth-lead projects throughout the year. To keep up to date with the latest opportunities follow us on Instagram, or email youth@nillumbik.vic.gov.au to be added to our mailing list.

If you are a full licensed driver and interested in volunteering, there are also opportunities to get involved in the L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program
