Term 2, 2023 Winter School Holiday Sessions
Join Nillumbik Youth for some fun (and mostly free!) activities over the June school holidays.
Sessions being run include:
Smartphone Filmmaking Workshop
Wednesday 28 June, 10am-4pm
Wadambuk St. Andrews Community Centre, 35 Caledonia St St. Andrews (free!)
Learn the basics of smartphone filming! This 1-day workshop will provide participants with the skills to create a short film including storyboarding, screen writing and filming techniques. All participants will leave the day with a short film project. Lunch will also be provided. BYO device - smartphone or tablet.
This session is for high school students aged 12-18.

From Passion To Pro: How to Establish Yourself as a Creative Professional
Thursday 29 June, 5.30-7.30pm
Eltham Training Site, 901 Main Rd Eltham (free!)
Are you a musician, artist or creator looking to get paid for your talents? Join us for a free workshop on how to turn your hobby into a business. This session will include info on social media marketing and branding, how to negotiate offers, knowing your worth and how to get set up for payments the correct way.
This session is for young people aged 15-25.

Cheap Flix: The Flash
Friday 30 June, 1.30-3.30pm
Hoyts Greensborough ($10)
Join us for a discounted screening of The Flash! Ticket price includes entry to the movie as well as a popcorn and soft drink.
This session is for high school students aged 12-18.

Life Skills: What's Tax?
Thursday 6 July, 12-1pm
Eltham Training Site, 901 Main Road Eltham (free!)
Delivered by the Australian Taxation Office, learn about the foundations of tax including how to pay tax, the importance of superannuation and how to apply for a Tax File Number. This session also includes a free lunch!
This session is for young people aged 14-19

Life Skills: How To Ace Your Tax Return
Thursday 6 July, 1.30-3pm
Eltham Training Site, 901 Main Rd Eltham (free!)
Delivered by the Australian Taxation Office, learn how to complete an online tax return as well as some of the deductions you may be eligible for as a young person this year. This session also includes a free lunch!
This session is for young people aged 17-25.

FReeZa Gig: St. Andrews Sounds
Friday 7 July, 7-9pm
St. Andrews Hall, 1 Procter St St Andrews (free!)
Catch Suzi, Silver Rain and Vending Machine Repairmen at the St. Andrews Town Hall! A shuttle bus will also run from Hurstbridge to the gig via Panton Hill and Smith's Gully.
This event is for young people aged 12-25.
