School holiday activities

Term 4, 2023 Summer School Holiday Program 

Join Nillumbik Youth for some fun (and mostly free!) activities over the January school holidays.

Sessions being run include:

Teen Relentless Gym Sessions

Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4-4.30pm

Sessions running across Diamond Valley, Diamond Creek and Eltham Aligned Leisure facilities (free!)

Join Aligned Leisure fitness instructors for a free 30 minute gym class! The session involves a mix of circuits and intervals focused on strength, fitness and core.

These sessions are for young people aged 13-18. Registration is not required.

 

Summer Pool Party

Friday 13 January, 5-7pm

Diamond Creek Outdoor Pool (free!)

We’re waving entry to the Diamond Creek pool! Head down for a free sausage sizzle, DJs and the Ninja Warrior inflatable course.

This event is for young people of all ages. Registration is not required.

 

Home Grown Summer: Garden Grooves

Tuesday 17 January, 5-7pm

Diamond Valley Library (free!)

Enjoy music from some our best local young artists and feast on pizza in the library’s community garden!

This event is for young people of all ages. Registrations is not required. 

 

Cheap Flix: Avatar- The Way of Water

Wednesday 18 January, 1-3.30pm

Greensborough Hoyts ($10)

Join Nillumbik Youth for a discounted movie session at Hoyts Greensborough. Ticket includes entry to the movie and a popcorn and drink!

This session is for young people aged 12-18.

New Year, New You Workshop

Wednesday 18 January, 7-8pm

Eltham Library (free!)

Join spiritual leader Claudia Lighter to learn how to reset your energies for the new year and discover positive life changes. 

This session is for young people aged 15 and over. To register for this session please contact Cath at the Eltham Library on 9439 9266. 

Pickling Workshop

Thursday 19 January, 10-12pm

Eltham Library (free!)

Learn to pickle and preserve your own vegetables in this beginner friendly workshop. BYO jars to take home your creations!

This session is for young people aged 15 and over.

Barista Basics Course

Friday 20 January, 10am-3pm

Living and Learning Training Site, Eltham ($95, $70 for concession card holders)

This one-day course will offer the full range of front of house aspects to working in a café/small restaurant environment with specific focus on barista training and customer service.

This session is for young people aged 15 and over.

How To Make Kimchi Workshop

Saturday 21 January, 11am-12.30pm 

Diamond Valley Library, Greensborough (free!)

Always wanted to learn the art of making your own kimchi? Bring your own medium jar to make your own at the library. All food products are provided. 

This session is for young people aged 15 and over.
