This 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence, join The Social Education Group and Nillumbik Youth Council for an interactive Pack & Give Back session exploring family violence, gender equality and the role we can all play in creating safer, more respectful communities.

Through activities and discussion, we’ll unpack what family violence can look like, explore some of the myths and attitudes that allow violence and abuse to go unchallenged, and look at how young people can recognise and challenge disrespect, inequality and harmful behaviours.

We’ll then turn awareness into action, working together to pack practical support items for people experiencing family violence. This is a chance to learn, contribute and connect with other young people interested in creating positive change in their community.

This session is for young people age 15-25.

Content warning:This session discusses family and gender-based violence, including coercive control and physical, emotional, financial and sexual abuse. Some participants may find these topics confronting or upsetting. The session is run by experienced facilitators and supported by Nillumbik Youth staff, who will be available if participants need support.
