Every year, Victorian Youth Fest is an exciting showcase that celebrates the talents, skills and ideas of diverse young people across Victoria.

Youth Takeover 2022

Nillumbik Youth Takeover happens yearly during Victorian Youth Fest where young people are invited to host workshops and performances all across the Shire.

Applications now open for Youth Takeover workshops and performances!

Do you have a special skill or talent you want to share? We’re looking to pay 10 young people aged 12-25 to run workshops, perform or make videos in our Youth Takeover in the September School Holidays!

Nervous about running a face to face session? No problem! Youth Takeover will include a mix of face to face and online programs.

No prior experience is needed but successful applicants will need to demonstrate how they will teach or showcase their talent.

Youth Takeover Workshops could include:

  • A live or online performance (music, dancing, short film, podcast etc)
  • A craft workshop such as macramé, painting or drawing
  • An online how to video
  • An active workshop such as footy, martial arts, gymnastics or soccer
  • A music workshop such as beat making, song writing or hip hop
  • A fun event such as hosting a trivia session, comedy night or gaming session
  • Or something else!

We’re also looking for a young person interested in graphic design to design a poster and social media tile to advertise the Youth Takeover program. If you’ve got an eye for design apply in the link below.

All successful applicants will be paid $150 for in person workshops or $100 for pre-recorded videos. Workshops and performances will be supported by the Nillumbik Youth Team and all equipment required for sessions will be provided.
