Every year, Victorian Youth Fest is an exciting showcase that celebrates the talents, skills and ideas of diverse young people across Victoria. 

Youth Takeover 2022

To celebrate Victorian Youth Fest this September school holidays we're programming a calendar of workshops, performances and online content led by local young people!

Creative Writing Workshop with AJ and Maddy

Monday 19 September 4-5pm, Hurstbridge Community Hub (free!)

Join AJ and Maddy to learn tips on boosting your creative writing skills!

Registrations are essential.

This session is for young people aged 12-25.

Live Performance from Ruby Todd and supports- Postponed due to Queen's Day of Mourning Public Holiday (new date TBA!)

 

Catch some of the best local young performances at Eltham Town Square!

There will also be some free mini golf and a DJ as part of the Illuminate Eltham festivities following the event.

This session is suitable for young people of all ages.

Online Session: DIY Polymer Clay Earrings with Poppy

Video will be launched Monday 19 September (free!)

Join Poppy for a step by step video on how to make simple polymer clay earrings at home.

This session is suitable for young people of all ages.

Online Session: How to practice guided meditation with Mike

Video will be launched Monday 26 September (free!)

Join Mike for an online session of guided meditation to learn the steps to feeling zen.

This session is suitable for young people of all ages.

Youth Takeover Application Terms and Conditions:

  • All applicants must be aged between 12-25 
  • All applicants must live, work, study, volunteer or play in Nillumbik 
  • Submitting an application does not guarantee confirmation of place in Youth Takeover Program, successful applicants will be subject to approval by Nillumbik Youth and selected based on applicant's demonstration of ability to deliver nominated workshop, performance or content.
  • All applicants will be notified on the outcome of their application by the end of August. 
  • Distribution of payment for successful applicants is as follows: $150 for in person performance or workshop, $100 for online content. A fee that is fair and reasonable will be negotiated for applicants with 2+ young people.
